After the launch of the powerful Mercedes-AMG GT R comes the roadster version – the Mercedes-AMG GT C, which sits nicely in between the GT S and the GT R. Power comes from the same twin turbo 4.0 L V8 engine but tweaked to boost up to 557 hp and 680 Nm of torque.
The roadster also boasts some GT R goods such as active rear–wheel steering and electronically controlled rear differentials. It is driven by AMG’s Speedshift DCT seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and pushes the car to 0-100kph in 3.7 sec and maxes out at 316kph. Underneath the rear are the AMG signature performance exhausts with two adjustable flaps; to restrain its growl.
Other titter tatter like the soft roof that closes in roughly 11seconds even when travelling 50 kph, and is offered in three colours; black, red and beige, are available.. The exterior is available in 11 various shade while the interior is in 10. The steering wheel is finished in nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre for grip and comfort balance.
The body rigidity has been improved thanks to thicker walls in the skirts, and additional reinforcements in the dashboard and between the soft-top and tank, then an added fixed roll-over protection system on the cross-member.
Overall, the Mercedes AMG GT C is eyeing for people who value fresh air without compromising the look and feel of a true GT. The silhouette remains loyal to the original while injecting an extra oomph to put any person behind the wheel to cheering for more.
